Accepting Guidelines #movingforward
Some of us have gone through life
thinking that we did not need to follow any guidelines. Somehow, we got the
idea that special circumstances placed us above the rules. We looked for
shortcuts and rebelled against the tedium of discipline. Considering ourselves
exceptional, we decided to make our own guidelines. These were usually based on
doing what we felt like when we felt like it.
Once we accept the rules at a gut
level, they lead us out of negative restraint into positive freedom. By
following a few simple guidelines, we become free from slavery to compulsive
overeating and self-centered confusion.
I grew up knowing about God ut now
that I have a relationship with him it’s been very different. Having a
relationship with him has changed my whole outlook on everything. I’m much more
grateful than I think I ever was before. I appreciate just the littlest things
that other’s take for granted like walking or wearing high heel shoes to name a
few things. I feel the Bible is a guide book which everyone has a choice to
really tap into using it daily or not. When I was diagnosed having Sporadic SCA
(ataxia is like MS or ALS cousin to Parkinson’s), I really thought my life was
over. And that chapter actually was. I’ve been moving into a God guided life
which is much better than I ever expected it to be. It’s ironic that when I realized
that God was the only thing I had left in this world and I surrendered to him
that is when I gained knowledge that he is really is all that I need here.
God has been opening many doors for
me since having being diagnosed. Now I don’t know if there is a time limit on
them staying open or not, but I don’t want to take that chance that I’d miss
the opportunity. So I have to act upon them daily.
I joined Food Addicts #movingforward ;which help me stay away
from refined sugars and all flours. I learned that refined sugars, flour, foods
with preservatives, additives, anything in a bag or a box aren’t good for the
brain. Studies show that refined sugar (not a piece of fruit) lights up an MRI
just as if someone had cocaine in their brain. Since mine is degenerating I
still don’t want to ingest anything that can disturb that or take any chances.
I’m trying to rebuild mine.
FA is a 12 step program using allot
of the AA principles to help someone get off bad habits and create new ones.
One of our practices they encourage you to get up real early, call a spouncer,
commit your food daily, meditate for 30 mins each morning and has God all
through it. So it has made me much more disciplined not only with foods but
eliminating thinking about it and replacing those thoughts with God and what he
wants not what I want. I think the combo makes a difference and accepting God’s
guidance daily! People don’t realize it’s a very spiritual program, even though
they say it’s not.
By the GRACE of God, it looks as
though my cerebellum has stopped degenerating. I was having a brain MRI every
year to watch the degeneration. It stopped after I quite refined sugars and
flours additives and preservatives. My Neurologist now has moved my MRI’s to
every other year. He said “Once the cerebellum starts to degenerate you can’t
stop it Jeannie.” I smiled and said,
“There is a first time for everything.” Watch, I’ll make him a believer yet!
Everyday seems to be a new journey
for me. I look forward to what God plans for me and guides me! So yes I’m #movingforward only with his grace. I’m
very grateful for the little things now and feel a responsibility to share his
love when I get a chance without pushing it.
Learning #whoIam
in Christ is very exciting daily. I really never know what to expect so I
don’t. I find myself praying (should I say just talking to God thought my day)
more than I ever did before. I’m learning that #whoIam in Christ effects everything I do in life. God sees me as a
worthy person that has a reason for being here and so do I.
I’m starting to learn and keep
learning daily to have more and more patients because God has a plan that works
out way better than mine ever could!
I want to share with you this
scripture that helps me daily. It gives me more strength.. Philippians 4:13 I can
do all things with Christ who strengthens me!
Thank you God for your promises and
your follow though! And thank you for
reading this.
I hope that you choose to make it a
great day no matter what comes with it!
